What is a Participant ID?
A Participant ID is a unique identifier assigned to each individual enrolled in CMMI studies. It allows researchers to link data from different sources while maintaining participant privacy.
Relationship to CMMI ID
In the CMMI-DCC system:
- CMMI ID is the primary identifier used across all studies
- Participant ID may refer to study-specific identifiers
- Both terms are often used interchangeably
Usage
- Data Linking: Connect CBC, HLQ, omics data for the same individual
- Privacy Protection: De-identified identifier protects personal information
