What is Metabolomics?

Metabolomics is the scientific study of chemical processes involving metabolites, which are small molecules (molecular weight < 1500 Da) present in cells, biofluids, tissues, or organisms.

What are Metabolites?

Metabolites are the intermediate or end products of metabolism. They include:

- Sugars
- Lipids
- Nucleotides
- Small molecules from drugs or food
