Cohort Data type

What is a Cohort?

A cohort is a group of participants who share common characteristics and are observed over time in a research study. In the CMMI project, cohorts help organize participants for longitudinal studies and comparative analyses.

Types of Cohorts

  • Longitudinal Cohorts: Participants followed over multiple time points
  • Cross-sectional Cohorts: Participants studied at a single time point
  • Disease-specific Cohorts: Groups defined by specific health conditions

Usage in CMMI-DCC

  • Data Filtering: Filter analyses by cohort
  • Comparative Studies: Compare outcomes between different cohorts
  • Longitudinal Analysis: Track changes within cohorts over time
