CMMI ID Identifier

What is a CMMI ID?

The CMMI ID (Canadian Microbiome Mapping Initiative Identifier) is a unique, anonymized identifier assigned to each participant in CMMI studies. This identifier allows researchers to link data from multiple sources (clinical tests, questionnaires, omics data) while protecting participant privacy.

Format

CMMI IDs typically follow the format: CMMI-XXXXX where X represents alphanumeric characters.

Usage

  • Data Linking: All data types (CBC, HLQ, Metabolomics, etc.) use the CMMI ID to associate results with participants
  • Privacy Protection: CMMI IDs are de-identified and cannot be traced back to personal information without authorized access
  • Cross-Study Analysis: Enables analysis across different studies and data types
